Whether you’re planning a small backyard project or a large-scale commercial installation, here’s exactly what you can expect when you work with us.

The SLS Customer Experience

Step 1: Requesting your quote

Everything starts with your Quote Request, submitted through our website or by contacting our office. Once received, we’ll schedule an on-site meeting with one of our Project Managers or designers best suited for your project type.

During this visit, your Project Manager will:
  • Discuss your goals, ideas, and any challenges on your property
  • Take site measurements and elevation readings
  • Talk through materials, budget, and sustainable options

From there, your Project Manager will create a custom design and scope of work, then send you a detailed quote.

Once you’re ready to move forward, you’ll sign your contract and submit your deposit online, and we’ll add your project to our production schedule.

Step 2: Design & Estimating Phase

For many projects, a clear plan is the key to success. During your initial visit, your Project Manager/Designer will determine if a professional design is necessary to bring your vision to life.

  • Design Consult: If your project requires a detailed layout, we will provide a design cost estimate upfront. This ensures every dollar of your investment is planned with precision.
  • Customization: Our designer will collaborate with you to refine the vision and scope of work, ensuring the materials and layout align perfectly with your goals.
  • Finalizing the Quote: Once the design is approved, you will receive an invoice for the design contract, and your PM will provide a finalized, detailed quote.

Once you’re ready to move forward, you’ll sign your contract and submit your deposit online, and we’ll add your project to our production schedule.

Step 3: Scheduling Your Project

Your Project Manager will provide an estimated start timeframe for your project. Landscaping schedules can vary due to weather, staffing, and material availability, so exact dates are not guaranteed, but we’ll keep you updated along the way.

  • We schedule projects in the order that contracts are signed.
  • If your start date changes, your Project Manager will notify you as early as possible.
  • You may see utility markings in your yard a few days before we arrive: that means we’re preparing to start!

Our goal is clear communication and minimal surprises throughout your project.

Step 4: Production - The Fun Part!

Once we’re on-site, the transformation begins. Depending on your project’s size and scope, you’ll see crews, equipment, and trailers near your property. We do our best to be efficient, tidy, and respectful of your neighborhood and space.

Here’s what you can expect during construction:
  • A Crew Leader will be your main point of contact on-site and can answer quick questions.
  • Your Project Manager oversees the entire process. If you have design or scope changes, please reach out to them directly.
  • The first few days may look messy - don’t worry! Landscaping often looks chaotic before it looks beautiful

We promise the result will be worth the wait.

Step 5: Payments & Progress Billing

We require a 25% deposit on projects over $1,000 to reserve your spot on our schedule and cover initial materials.

  • Deposits can be paid via check, ACH, or credit card (service charge applies).
  • For multi-phase or long-term projects, progress billing may occur as stages are completed.
  • Your Project Manager will communicate billing timelines and answer any questions.

Step 6: Post-Completion — The Really Fun Part!

As your project nears completion, your Project Manager will contact you to review final details, answer questions, and ensure you’re 100% satisfied.

After your walkthrough:

  • You’ll receive a final invoice for any remaining balance.
  • We’ll send you watering and plant care guidelines if new trees or shrubs were installed.
  • Enjoy your new outdoor space, and watch it thrive!

Step 7: Maintenance!

It is important that your project receives the ongoing care after installation, and we want every project to exceed your expectations. We offer professional ongoing landscape bed maintenance for your installed projects. We would be happy to work on a plan and budget to make sure your investment is cared for consistently so you can maximize your enjoyment of your new space! 

Warranty Information

We stand behind our work and want your landscape to flourish for years to come.
  • Plant Warranty: We offer a 1-year warranty on new trees, shrubs, perennials, and grasses, covering replacement at 50% of the original cost (labor and materials).
  • Proper watering for establishment and ongoing seasonal care are the responsibility of the client, and essential for long-term plant health.
